CRUISE FOR DEAF
LAST OCTOBER 14, 2005
Story by Marian/Tom Jividen
Hurricane Wilma had chased us while we were on cruise. We arrived
Cozumel, Mexico but we had short stay. We left four and half hours
earlier. On that late night, Hurricane Wilma arrived Cozumel. She stayed
there for two days while we traveled northeast. Our ship had been swayed
for many hours. Many people were seasick. Other than this, we had so
marvelous time all together.

Story by Richard/Mary Tingler
We, Richard and Mary Tingler, left Baltimore on Grandeur of the Seas under Royal
Caribbean Cruise Line on October 14.  We were with a group of 26 other deaf
people and four interpreters.  We were on sea for one day before we got to Grand
Bahama Island on third day.  We went on a tour to the two small caves.
On  fourth day we arrived at Cococay, Bahamas.  It is an island owned by Royal
Caribbean Cruise Line.  It is very beautiful.  The water was so blue.  There were lot
of people swimming, parasailing ,and jet skiing along the way around to small
islands.  There was a flock of white birds flying around.  It was fun to watch.
The weather was hot there.
On fifth day we arrived at Key West, FL.  We went on conch train/old town trolley
tour that took us all around the city.  We saw Hemingway House, Truman's little
White House, and many more.  It was fun.
The day after we left Key West the hurricane hit it.
On sixth day we arrived at Cozumel, Mexico.  We had to cancel our tour
to see the Tulum Maya Ruins because the cruise had to leave 3 hours
earlier because of the hurricane.
We went shopping instead.
The day after we left Cozumel the hurricane hit it.
On seventh day we were on sea.
On eighth day we arrived at Port Canaveral, FL.
We had fun riding on the airboat along the everglades.
It went on a speed of 40 miles an hour.  What a speed!!  We ate fried alligator
pieces.  Not bad.  They taste almost like chicken.
On ninth day we were on sea.
On tenth day, October 23, we arrived back to Baltimore safely from Hurricane
Wilma.  We were thankful.  We enjoyed the cruise trip and the countries.

Story by Norma Moreland/Christine Amberg
We, Norma Moreland and Christine Amberg, had a memorable time during our
first Cruise with Western Caribbean from October 15 - 23, 2005.  There was a
slight experience with rough sea due to Hurricane Wilma and fortunately, we
didn't get sea sick.  We enjoyed riding on the airboat in Port Canavernal, Florida.
Neither her nor I saw any alligator; but we were brave enough to eat the fried
alligator meat.  We played slots on the ship but were disappointed for not winning
and brining any extra money home from the Casino. Smile!  both of us are now
looking forward to going on another cruise on another ship which is very new and
much larger called "Freedom of the Seas" in October 2007.
